JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office reports two teens were shot on the northside of town late Thursday night.

According to police, the shooting happened shortly after 10 p.m. in the 10400 block of Gailwood Cir E. Officers discovered two victims shot when they arrived at the scene. Those victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

One of the victims died at the hospital and the other is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police report the 18-year-old victim has died and the 19-year-old is in the hospital being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

JSO Homicide responded and is investigating this incident. Their initial investigation has revealed that the victims were walking in a southbound direction on Gailwood Cir E when a silver Buick LeSabre drove past them and stopped. Unknown suspect(s) began shooting at the victims from the car. The car then fled in an unknown direction.
