A man is recovering in the hospital Saturday following an incident that occurred at a Westside apartment complex, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO said that around 10 a.m., they got a call to assist the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department at the Forest Apartments, located at 6756 103rd St.
Around the same time, an off-duty police officer at a local hospital called in to report that a vehicle arrived with someone suffering from injuries.
JSO said the two calls were related.
Police said a man in his early 20s was transported to the nearby hospital. They also said that the man was later transported from this hospital to another hospital, but that he appears to have non-life threatening injuries.
Though JSO initially tweeted they were responding to a shooting, during a news conference held Saturday around 1 p.m., JSO said they couldn't confirm if the incident that took place was a shooting.
JSO said officers are now speaking to witnesses at the hospital, as well as witnesses at the apartment complex for more information.
