Man shot in chest, killed in Arlington

The victim was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon, where he died.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An man was killed Tuesday afternoon when he was shot in the upper chest in Arlington, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

At approximately 2:55 p.m., officers were called to the 1700 block of Cesery Boulevard after gunfire was reported.

They found the man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital by the Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department.

At the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries, according to JSO.

Homicide Unit detectives and Crime Scene Unit detectives began an investigation at the scene. They found out there was an "altercation" nearby, which led to this accident, JSO said.
