A 22-year-old man was arrested after reportedly recording girls in the women's restroom of a Moncrief gas station, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO arrested Joshua Nicholas Johnson on Monday at a Raceway gas station at 7304 Lem Turner Road.
When police arrived at the scene, they spoke with the girls' mother who said they were traveling through the area when they stopped at the gas station to refuel.
The two girls went inside to use the restroom while the mother put gas in the vehicle. While one of the girls was using the restroom one victim said she saw a man holding a cellphone under the stall, according to the report.
The girls then left the restroom and told their mother what happened. The mother then spoke with a gas station attendant who called the police.
A man who was traveling with the girls and their mother stopped Johnson from leaving the gas station until police arrived.
Police obtained video surveillance of the gas station which reportedly shows Johnson entering the women's restroom as multiple women went in and out of the restroom without noticing him.
The surveillance video also shows the girls entering the restroom, then running out a moment later before Johnson is also seen exiting the restroom behind them.
Johnson was charged with video voyeurism of a child under the age of 16 and his phone was seized as evidence.
