A 30-year-old man was extradited back to Jacksonville after he was arrested in Delaware for the November 2018 murder of a 55-year-old man on Jacksonville's Eastside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said Edom Omar Morales, 30, was booked into the Duval County Jail for the November 27, 2018 murder that took place in the 800 block of Van Buren Street.

On that day, JSO responded to reports of a person shot and found a 55-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, JSO said.

JSO's Homicide Unit spoke with witnesses and conducted investigations which led them to determine that Morales was the suspect in the shooting of that victim.

An arrest warrant was issued for Morales on Aug. 8, and he was located in Delaware on Aug. 20, police said. Morales was extradicted back to Jacksonville, Florida and charged with 2nd-degree murder. He is currently being held without bond.
