JSO: Woman shot in Long Branch neighborhood, one in custody

Police say the shooting was the result of an altercation involving multiple people. They are still looking for video and witnesses to come forward.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman is expected to be OK after a shooting in the Long Branch neighborhood Friday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police say a 24-year-old man, who was not identified by police, has been taken into custody in relation to the incident. 

JSO says around 12:13 p.m., officers were dispatched to a person shot in the 100 block of E 32nd street in reference to someone shot.

When they arrived, police found a 24-year-old woman suffering from what appeared to a gunshot wound. The woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the shooting was the result of an altercation involving multiple people. They are still looking for video and witnesses to come forward.
