Male victim, woman shot in drive-by shooting in Durkeeville neighborhood

A male victim is in life-threatening condition following a drive-by shooting in Durkeeville.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A male victim sustained life-threatening injuries Tuesday night after he and a woman were shot in a drive-by shooting in Durkeeville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JSO was called to the 1400 block of West Fifth Street at around 10:13 p.m. in reference to a shooting. Once at the scene, police found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. JSO said the male, whose age has not been disclosed, was standing outside with a woman when a white Ford Taurus approached. Several rounds were fired in their direction from the vehicle.

The male victim was rushed to a local hospital in life-threatening condition and the woman took herself to a hospital in non-life-threatening condition. 

Circumstances surrounding the drive-by are still under investigation.
