JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police revealed the person found dead near the Florida State College of Jacksonville campus was a 16-year-old boy.
Xavian Davis, 16, was found dead at a Baymeadows apartment complex Thursday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Davis was found after police received word of shots fired at the complex on 9801 Old Baymeadows Road. Upon arriving at the scene, JSO found Davis shot outside the complex.
David was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
That night at 9:40 p.m., Florida State College of Jacksonville sent an alert to students about a police presence near its Deerwood campus.
