Joleen Cummings' mother pleads for anyone with information to come forward

The Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper said that the disappearance of Joleen Cummings is like nothing they have ever seen.

Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper said the disappearance of Joleen Cummings is like nothing the department has ever seen before.

“We have uncovered a lot of evidence and information that have led investigators in many different directions," Leeper said during a press conference Friday.

However, he added they are continuing to follow leads and search for Joleen's body.

As they learn more about the suspect, Jennifer Sybert, it has been revealed that she has used at least 18 different aliases in 33 different cities in 14 different states in the last 18 years.

Officials are unsure why she used so many aliases or whether she is involved in the disappearance of anyone else.

"As you can see, this is very strange," Leeper said. "It is clear she is running from something."

During the same press conference, Joleen's mother, Anne Johnson, gave an emotional speech:

"I want to thank the news media for the wonderful and the overwhelming support from the social media, Joleen's close friends church ministers, my close friends and especially you, you the public for all your prayers and all the support I’ve been receiving.

Please don’t give up, pray without ceasing. I cannot emphasize that enough, pray without ceasing. My sincere appreciation is for Sheriff Bill Leeper, the Nassau County Sheriff's Office investigations, the unit, local state and federal agencies who have been working around the clock to bring Joleen home. I have to reiterate over and over I have 100 percent confidence in the abilities of the Nassau County Sheriff's Office. They are leaving no stone unturned. So if I feel that way, then you should also support how I feel and back the sheriff’s office in searching for my daughter.

It’s been 20 days since we’ve not heard or seen from my daughter, Joleen Rebecca Jensen Cummings who disappeared on May 13, her birthday, which was also Mother’s Day, a holiday in which she was born on. There was no celebration, only broken hearts. Its been 20 days, Joleen’s three beautiful children have not seen their mother. They miss her so much.

It’s been 20 days, we long to hear Joleen’s laugh, her witty little personality and that beautiful big smile. It’s been 20 days, our Joleen who was taken from us and is presumed dead. It’s been 20 days, we’re on our hands and knees for Joleen, for the past 20 days I believe if there is one thing, if there is one thing I do believe in the last 20 days, it’s that good prevails over evil in the overwhelming support I have received, once again from the media from the public from the friends, my daughter’s extended family and my family.

One of Joleen’s favorite quotes was ‘Use your smile to change the world don’t let the world change your smile,' as a family we must stand united, we must stand strong and I ask everyone out there, Joleen’s friends, strangers, relatives to do the same. We are so desperate to find her. I plead with anyone who know anything of the suspect Jennifer Sybert, or AKAs all the others that she had used and if anybody has seen once again what the Sheriff said about the 2016 Kia Soul, if anyone has seen or knows anything about it please come forward.

Each one of you has had someone if your life that you love and if you were forced to live a moment of this nightmare I would pray that the people with the information could come forward. My family is asking the same respect and compassion as we would show yours. Please bring Joleen home and fight for justice. I am turning to the public for help and any information anything that could help to call the investigators right away. Thank you to my close friends, Senator Aaron bean, Ken Jefferson, especially Anne Duggar formerly of the justice coalition, you are my rock. I repeat this prayer over and over again, take my sad aching heart, and comfort Joleen’s three small children, her younger siblings, Joleen’s brother that’s out there in the audience, her sister Justine, Joleen’s extended family and friends.

Bring her home to our family so that we can have some closure. Lord, we love you and we trust in you, be a comfort to all who love Joleen. If you have a child or you love someone I beg you’d never too let them leave the house without hugging them or kissing them. I don’t have that second change, but know this, my kids will never leave without that hug. I want to thank you for coming and to keep Joleen’s name out there, to find her, bring her home, serve justice and god bless thank you.”
