Jacksonville police looking for escaped inmate

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is looking for inmate Cody Lane. He escaped while on a work detail.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is looking for a man they said escaped jail while he was on a work detail. Cody Lane, who was incarcerated at the Dinsmore Correctional Facility, evaded officers who were trying to pick him up while he was working a shift near the intersection of Lem Turner Road and Dunn Avenue, a sheriff's office news release states.

A transition house employee was trying to pick Lane up when he fled the area removing his GPS tracking device. Lane's charges include burglary and theft, the news release states. He is 5'10", brown hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a red Zaxby's shirt.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to called JSO at 904-630-0500.
