Jacksonville police searching for gunmen after man shot at Southside motel

Crime scene tape was up at the America's Best Value Inn on Dix Ellis Trail.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is searching for two gunmen after a man was found with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds at a Southside motel Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the 8200 block of Dix Ellis Trail for reports that a person had been shot at 4:13 a.m. Tuesday. That's the America's Best Value Inn.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his mid-30s suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated, JSO said.

Police do not believe there is a continued threat to the public and that the shooting was an isolated incident. They are searching for two unknown suspects who drove away from the area in a white Honda Accord.

Anyone with information is asked to call JSO's non-emergency number at 904-630-0500 or email JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org. You can also remain anonymous by calling First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
