A man is recovering in the hospital after being shot near an Englewood convenience store Friday night, according to to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JSO said it received a call around 6:45 p.m. in reference to a person shot in the 3900 block of Spring Glen Road. When police arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Photos and videos from the scene showed a heavy police presence. Witnesses told First Coast News there were more than 10 police vehicles on the scene and that the Welcome Food Store, located at 3959 Spring Glen Rd., was blocked off with police tape.

JSO also said the shooting appeared to be the result of a dispute, but it is working to confirm this information.

At this time, police do not have a shooter in custody. JSO is currently interviewing witnesses to gather more information.
