FLORAHOME, Fla. — A man was shot Saturday night after an argument about 'some vehicles driving recklessly,' according to deputies with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
Keith Gravitz, 35, of Alachua County was pronounced dead at a hospital after being shot in Putnam County, deputies said.
The shooting took place on Hillsborough Avenue and Holly Lane in Florahome sometime shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday night, according to police.
Authorities responded to a 911 hangup and was told by the caller an argument had escalated into a fight about the way cars were driving in the area.
The fight reportedly turned deadly after one of the people involved pulled a gun and shot Gravitz.
Police said that a neighbor nearby also called police and said he heard a 'disturbance' followed by a gunshot.
A different neighbor put Gravitz in a car and started to drive him to Putnam County Medical Center's Emergency Room. He was caught by a deputy, who performed CPR on Gravitz until rescue arrived.
Gravitz was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Detectives with Putnam County Sheriff's Office know who the shooter is and are working with the State Attorney's Office to find out if charges will be filed.
