31-year-old woman charged with murder after Thursday's fatal stabbing in Woodstock area

Police said that Kimberly Davis, 31, was located and arrested Friday in the 4600 block of Hunt Street.

A 31-year-old woman was arrested Friday in connection to Thursday's fatal stabbing that happened in the Woodstock area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. 

Police said Kimberly Davis was located and arrested in the 4600 block of Hunt Street. Multiple witnesses were able to assist homicide detectives in quickly identifying and locating the suspect.

Davis is said to have personally known the victim who was stabbed in the chest in the 2200 block of Kingston Street, according to JSO.

Police said they received a call at 9:25 p.m. in reference to a man being stabbed on Kingston Street. The caller told police they were driving the victim to UF Health in a Dodge Charger, JSO said.

A short time later, JSO responded to a single-car crash at the intersection of 8th and Davis Streets involving a black Dodge Charger. Police said they found three people in the car, one of them a 33-year-old man with a knife wound to the chest.

That man was transported to UF Health where he later died.

Davis is facing second-degree murder charges and is currently being held at the Duval County Jail without bond.
