Move over Santa! The Chestnut Law firm is giving out the one gift that people really care about this holiday season, free gas. The 4th Annual Christmas Gas Giveaway will take place on Jacksonville's Northside on Friday.
The giveaway will take place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the BP gas station located at 1451 Dunn Ave. No gift cards will be distributed, instead, gas will be provided directly to motorists who arrive with their vehicle during the designated 2-hour window.
The event is part of some of the community-oriented initiatives organized by the Christopher M. Chestnut Foundation each year.
An organizer with the event says that while it's commonplace for businesses and organizations to give back during the holiday season, Chestnut's motives are a bit more personal.
“Every year, he celebrates his birthday [which is on December 23rd] by giving back to those who are less fortunate and to those who have supported his practice," said Antonio Gadsden, owner of The Marketing Genius firm who is assisting with the event.
"He feels that his blessings come from giving. So instead of taking a trip or doing something extravagant for himself; he celebrates by showing God how thankful he is to see another year, by blessing others, as God has blessed him."
