A small fire was put out in the men's department in a Walmart on the Westside Wednesday night.

The incident occurred at the Walmart at 6767 103rd St. around 9 p.m.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the fire burned socks, underwear, and other miscellaneous items. JSO says employees quickly put the fire out with a fire extinguisher, and the store was evacuated. It is considered arson and there was at least $400 in damaged merchandise.

Police are not yet sure what caused the fire, but are conducting an investigation that includes the store's security cameras.

The store will be closed for the night and will decide Thursday morning when they can re-open.

JSO says no injuries were sustained during or after the fire.
