Stay Up and Save: Throw a killer Super Bowl party and keep money in your pocket

Lots of reasons to party this weekend, specifically on Sunday. Let's save some money if you're hosting a party.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — No need for pretense or fluff, you want to save money. So let's get right to it.

It's not impolite to save money, and it's not impolite to ask everyone coming to your house to bring something. If you make sure each invitee is responsible for one thing, that'll mean you're only responsible for one thing too.

Well one food thing, you're still going to want to have some decorations. If you've watched any amount of Stay Up and Save segments, you know the absolute favorite store of this franchise is a store of the dollar variety.

Right now they have all their football-themed things set out and ready for you. Just take a roll of quarters (you won't need the whole thing) and you'll have your house looking like Hefner's place for your big bash.

Oh, if you're feeling like BYOB is a bit too much to ask, that's fine. If you are throwing one of those parties with adult beverages (gasp!) try one of the warehouse, wholesale style stores. You can get way more satisfying bang for your buck there if you're going to have a lot of people over.

However, this doesn't really make sense if you don't have a lot of people coming. You could wind up spending more money on a bottle of liquor you only sip on a couple of times a year.

The same is true with those GIGANTIC containers of mayonnaise you get from those places. It seems like a good idea at the time, but really, it may just be a waste.

Enjoy your weekend, everyone! And remember, America's Got Talent is on Sunday as well.

Mahalo,

Lew
