ORANGE PARK, Fla. — Another First Coast small business announced its closure due to the hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wicked Batter Cafe opened in 2018 as a scratch-made bakery, according to its website. However, the company said the pandemic has made sales drop by more than 70%.

"The last two months have been nearly impossible with ever decreasing sales, and we have now completely drained all of our cash reserves," the bakery said in a statement on Facebook. "We are ineligible for any traditional type of loans, have been denied by the SBA, have exhausted our PPP loan etc."

The company said all current orders will be fulfilled for December. However, anyone with orders in January or onward will be contacted to make special arrangements.

"It's breaking our hearts to have to leave, but we are out of options and sometimes things just don't work out; no matter how much you want them to," the bakery said in its statement.

The company did not say when the final closing date will be. However, they will continue to operate during their normal hours until they officially close their doors.
