This week, our On Your Side team told you about a 92-year-old Jacksonville woman who paid $3,000 upfront to the company East Coast Tree Pro's to cut down a magnolia tree in November.
Joyce Hodges said an employee with the company showed up to cut the branches, but never returned to remove them.
On Your Side reached out to the owner, Kenny Sims, who promised to remove the tree last week. However, on Thursday when we followed up on the story, the tree was still in Hodges yard.
On Friday, Sims spoke to First Coast News and said the (now-former) employee used the company's name to take the money and never finished the work.
That morning, he had employees from his company show up and remove the tree branches from Hodges' yard.
