Sleiman Enterprises acquires historic San Marco Square properties in Jacksonville

The showcase of the three buildings is at 1974 San Marco Blvd., a 94-year-old, 8,200-square-foot former Indochine restaurant.

Jacksonville-based Sleiman Enterprises announced the acquisition of a collection of buildings in San Marco Square overlooking Balis Park’s iconic fountain with bronze lions.

The showcase of the three buildings is at 1974 San Marco Blvd., a 94-year-old, 8,200-square-foot former Indochine restaurant. The others are at 1972 and 1980 San Marco Blvd., currently a Beau Outfitters and a Starbucks.

The buildings’ architectural features include exposed brick throughout, domed terrace doors and high vaulted ceilings.

“The opportunity to acquire this iconic collection of buildings in one of Jacksonville’s most coveted neighborhoods was an opportunity we could not pass up,” said Michael McNaughton, chief operating officer for Sleiman Enterprises. “We already have interest from a number of potential retailers and restaurant operators that we believe will be well-received. Our goal is to identify those who will bring the most excitement to the area and be successful over the long term.”

The purchase price and previous owners were not disclosed.

Sleiman Enterprises, former owner of The Jacksonville Landing, owns and develops outdoor, open-air retail centers with properties throughout Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia.
