Jacksonville Light Boat Parade, fireworks took stage Saturday night

A beloved Jacksonville holiday tradition made its return this weekend: the Jacksonville Light and Boat Parade!

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A beloved Jacksonville holiday tradition made its return this weekend: the Jacksonville Light and Boat Parade!

It was held along the St. Johns River in Downtown Jacksonville.It started at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and fireworks shot off at 9 p.m. The event is free to attend.

It's a tradition that has been going on for more than 30 years. It starts with a boat parade where boats of all shapes and sizes are decked out in holiday decorations and lights. The boats cruise up and down the St. Johns River. Afterward, fireworks shoot off at the Main Street Bridge and Acosta Bridge.

The Main Street Bridge will close for the event at 5:30 p.m. The Acosta Bridge will close at 8:30 p.m.
