As if you needed any more reasons to visit Five Points!
Crane Ramen Restaurant opened last week in Five Points, and the developers behind The Bearded Pig are prepping the old Cask Wine Bar & Shop into a new bar-arcade concept, according to our partners at the Jacksonville Business Journal.
For Crane Ramen, you can expect a more authentic Japanese-style ramen dish – much more upscale than your microwaveable Top Ramen – offering up their own renditions of tonkotsu (pork-based), shoyu (chicken-based) and other forms of noodle goodness, including Miso!
Crane Ramen also serves an assortment of appetizers and signature cocktails that make it a trendy spot to hit up before a night out on the town.
A lot of people are posting photos of their food on Instagram, which you can view here.
As for the arcade bar, tentatively titled Rec Room, expect to see this place open up as early as May 2018.
The space is about 1,550 square feet and will be designed to look like a 1970s basement, according to the Jacksonville Business Journal.
There will be a small staff of about 6-8 people with about 18 vintage arcade games, including “Pac-Man,” “Centipede” and “Galaga.”
As for the alcohol, patrons can expect to see local, regional and national beer and wine, the JBJ reports.
Rec Room will be the latest addition to a slew of arcade-bar concepts in Jacksonville. Previously, GLHF Game Bar opened at the Jacksonville Landing in 2016 and Keg and Coin recently opened on King Street.
