Mindy Wadley is a news producer at First Coast News.
She joined the digital team in early 2020 after producing newscasts for seven years, and has since gone back to her roots.
However, she still often produces content for the First Coast News' digital platforms.
A native of the Augusta, Georgia, area, Mindy began her career as a show producer for WAGT NBC 26, one of the stations she grew up watching as a kid, while working toward her bachelor’s degree in journalism at Augusta University.
After graduation, Mindy moved to Charleston, South Carolina, where she produced the 7 p.m. news at WCIV ABC News 4. During her time in Charleston, she helped to cover several major national stories, including the shooting death of Walter Scott by then-North Charleston Police officer Michael Slager, as well as the Charleston church shooting.
In 2015, Mindy moved back home to Augusta, where she produced award-winning newscasts at WRDW News 12 (and, after an acquisition, again for WAGT NBC 26).
Mindy has called Jacksonville home since 2017. She joined the First Coast News team in February 2020, working in the newsroom for just a couple of weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic began, and spent the next 15+ months working from home, crafting stories that shine a light on the resilience of the First Coast in the midst of a global pandemic.
Mindy lives with her her child, Clover, who is a student at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, as well as their cats, Ghost and Grey Wind. She enjoys exploring the local food and beverage scene (especially craft breweries), attending sporting events, and going to Universal and Walt Disney World as often as possible.
