Haley Harrison was born and raised in Parker, Texas, but moved to Jacksonville in April 2020 to join the First Coast News team as a Reporter/Multi-Skilled Journalist specializing in investigative reporting.
She began her career in June 2018 as a professional journalist at KOSA News in West Texas as a Multi-Skilled Journalist and Reporter. She was promoted to Weekend Anchor/Investigative Reporter in March 2019.
During her time at CBS7, Haley covered several breaking news stories, political events, high-profile murder trials, and the mass shootings in El Paso and Odessa.
Haley’s real knack, though, is for in-depth and investigative journalism. While in West Texas, she exposed big city spending, uncovered illegal pollution in the oil feeds, and got answers for a community dealing with orange city water.
Haley has also continued to learn and develop her career outside the newsroom. In May 2019, she was one of 60 international media professionals selected to participate in the Poynter-Kock Media and Journalism Fellowship, a year-long program to refine participants’ storytelling skills and accelerate their careers in media.
Haley played indoor and beach volleyball at the University of North Florida from 2014 to 2016. In May of 2018, Haley graduated from Texas Christian University’s Bob Schieffer College of Communication with a degree in Journalism, a certificate in Broadcast Journalism, and a minor in Political Science.
When Haley isn’t in the newsroom or running around with a camera, she spends her time on the beach, traveling, working out, and trying new recipes.
Haley loves living and working in the Jacksonville community. If you have story ideas or tips, please email Haley at email@example.com.
