Alex Osiadacz joined First Coast News as a Reporter-Multi-Skilled Journalist in January 2017.

A Chicago native, he is happy to trade snow for sandy beaches.

Since joining Good Morning Jacksonville, Alex waded through a flooded St. Augustine during Hurricane Irma, explained a popular holiday hymn's connection to the First Coast, and organized a little competition for National Doughnut Day.

Alex has reported live on MSNBC, the Weather Channel, and affiliates around the country.

Prior to Florida, Alex spent nearly three years as a morning reporting for the ABC affiliate in Tyler, Texas. There, he chased tornadoes, piloted a plane on TV, and even interviewed Texas music legends among other highlights.

He graduated magna cum laude from Georgia State University with a B.A. in journalism.

In college, Alex led a team of student journalists as the school's TV news director as well as a reporter/producer for the weekly newscast. He earned several awards for an investigative report exposing a hazing incident on campus.

He completed internships at WSB-TV and GeorgiaEncyclopedia.com in Atlanta, Ga.

In his spare time, Alex enjoys golfing, traveling, cooking, and cheering for his beloved Chicago teams.
