US 90 opens following deadly crash

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -- A fatal crash on US 90 closed a portion of the highway early Tuesday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene at 5:57 a.m., according to the FHP website. The crash involved a vehicle and a 37-year-old pedestrian identified as Elizabeth Chessman. The roadway was closed for several hours in both directions at the Nassau and Baker County line. The roadway reopened around 9:30 a.m.

According to Lt. Curtis Bollinger with Nassau County Fire Rescue, both Nassau and Jacksonville Fire Rescue responded to the scene.
