Police-involved wreck on Interstate 10 stalls westbound traffic for hours

A crash involving a motorcycle and another car on Interstate 10 at the McDuff Avenue exit heading westbound is stalled traffic all the way back to the Interstate 95 interchange Wednesday evening during rush hour.

A police-officer became involved when the motorcycle hit a car, forcing that car into an unmarked police car. The officer was not transported to a hospital, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

The motorcycle rear-ended an SUV and both the driver of the SUV and the motorcycle rider were taken to UF Health with injuries that weren't life-threatening.

This is the second police-involved wreck Wednesday, as an earlier wreck on San Jose Boulevard sent five people to the hospital.

All lanes reopened a few hours later.
