JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- Episcopal Middle School art teacher Michelle Krueger says she was thrilled at the chance to support the football team by wearing one of their jerseys-- she just had to have a student ask her.
"It was so much fun! And when I first heard about it, I thought, oh I really hope I get asked," Krueger said. "I thought he was looking for another teacher he has, and he said, no, I'm looking for you! And it made my day, it was a pleasure!"
"She was really excited! She jumped up and screamed a little bit!" said senior John Garner.
Garner said he's always looked up to Krueger, and loved having the chance to show his appreciation for all she's done for the school.
"It was really cool to see her around! It's impressive when you see someone wearing your jersey!" he said.
Between JV and Varsity, the teams gave out more than 100 jerseys on game day and everyone agreed it made a difference.
"It was a great idea and it really helped to unite the faculty and staff to the student body," Krueger said.
