ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A registered sex offender is accused of showing porn to a teen and then sexually attacking her.
According to a report from the St. John's County Sheriff's Office, a 16-year-old girl was playing on the computer at a friend's house while waiting for her friend to return home. The teen told officers that her friend's father, Michael Phillip McDonald, 45, came over to her and started showing her porn on the computer.
The teen said she tried to turn away from the images, but said McDonald then grabbed her by the arm and pulled her into his bedroom, the report details.
McDonald attempted to sexually assault the girl, saying, "let me do this or I will kill you," the report says.
The girl was able to get away from McDonald and call 911, but she told police she hung up after McDonald came out of the bedroom and came towards her. Police dispatchers called the girl back but the report says McDonald answered and told them there was not an emergency.
The report says that McDonald's wife, Candy, came home later and asked the teen if she was ok. The teen told Mrs. McDonald that she was fine, but the next morning, the teen told police she talked to Mrs. McDonald about the incident.
After returning home, the teen told her grandmother about her stay at the McDonald's house the night before. The teen's grandmother went to the McDonald household and confronted the couple about her granddaughter's accusations. The report says both Michael McDonald and his wife denied that anything inappropriate occurred during the teen's stay in their home.
The teen's grandmother later reported the incident to the Division of Children and Families.
DCF reported the accusations to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, and McDonald was later arrested and charged with sexual assault, kidnapping/false imprisonment, assault, battery and obstructing justice, according to the SJCSO.
McDonald is currently being held in the St. John's County jail on a $1,012,000 bond.
McDonald is a registered sex offender for incidents in 2003 and 2009. McDonald was convicted for unlawful sexual activity with certain minors 16 to 17-years-old and failing to comply with sex offender registrations.
