PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Two Putnam County detectives have been fired after allegations of misconduct at a bar in January.
An internal affairs investigation found that Detective Josh Maynard, according to documents just released today, was intoxicated and instigated a bar fight in Palatka and took a concealed firearm into the Hi-Level bar.
The report goes on to say Maynard then lost his weapon, which was later brought to the bar owner by a patron who picked it up off the floor.
Detective Raymond Strickland has also been terminated.
The internal investigation report says he was on multiple occasions belligerent and rude to the bar employees after identifying himself as a law enforcement officer.
The report went on to say identifying himself as law enforcement at a bar could jeopardize the safety of his covert unit and operations they conduct.
