JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man has been charged with murder in the 2010 death of 2-year-old Eddie Robb.
Nicholas James Rivet, 35, a Navy employee, was arrested Wednesday morning, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report.
Eddie Robb and his mother, Brandi Robb, were staying at Rivet's residence along with Rivet's 3-year-old daughter. Rivet was reportedly the last adult to have contact with Eddie Robb.
According to the report, Rivet went into the room where the boy and Rivet's daughter were sleeping.
Brandi Robb said she heard a thud coming from the bedroom where Eddie was and found Rivet there. He told her that Eddie Robb had woken up his daughter and he was trying to get the kids to go back to sleep.
Later, Brandi Robb checked on her son and found him unresponsive. The Medical Examiner ruled Eddie Robb's death was the result of abusive head trauma.
Rivet is in the Pre-Trial Detention Center and is not eligible for bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday at 9 a.m.
