JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man has been arrested in a fatal weekend shooting at a house party.
Christopher Leon Anderson, 31, has been charged with Murder and Possession of Weapon or Ammunition by a Convicted Florida Felon, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrest report.
Police responded to a shooting in the 1500 block of West 21st Street just after 11 p.m. Saturday. Armando Jackson, 42, was found to be shot multiple times and later died at Shands Jacksonville as a result of his injuries.
Anderson told police that Jackson had picked him up by the back of the neck and slammed him down after the two exchanged words.
According to the report, Anderson then told Jackson, "Don't be here when I get back."
After leaving the party for about 10 minutes, Anderson then left and returned with a 9mm handgun, according to witnesses, who tried to keep Anderson from coming back into the party.
Anderson was able to get past them and shot Jackson. He was restrained from leaving by two witnesses until police arrived. Anderson was taken to Shands Jacksonville as a result of his injuries and is now in jail.
