VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. -- A motor vehicle accident involving two passenger vehicles and a semi-truck resulted in critical injuries around 3 p.m. Saturday.
The crash occurred at LPGA Blvd. and I-95.
Daytona Beach Fire Dept. and Volusia County Fire Services are currently on the scene.
According to the report, one patient was taken from a vehicle involved and taken to the trauma unit where they received a partial amputation.
Due to a large amount of fuel that spilled from the semi-truck, the Volusia County Hazmat team with assistance from DBFD cleaning up the spill.
This clean up process has I-95 shut down in both directions (North and South) around LPGA blvd.
The investigation into the cause of the accident and further informational releases will come from the Florida Highway Patrol.
