CALLAHAN, Fla. -- An armed man wanted for malicious mischief on Thursday morning turned himself in to law enforcement on Thursday afternoon.
The Nassau County Sheriff's Office received a report of damage done to a property at 10:39 a.m., according to Nassau County Sheriff's Office Undersheriff George Lueders.
The suspect fled, but was still in the area and neighbors reported that he had a gun. A man then approached the suspect, who then threatened suicide by holding the gun to his head.
The NCSO set up a perimeter in the area of Old Dixie Highway and Bethel Church Road after the suspect called police and reported that he had shot himself, Lueders said. Police later received reports that the man did not shoot himself, as he was seen running around.
Parents received calls that school buses would not be dropping kids off in that area due to police activity.
The man then turned himself into police at 3:53 p.m. He will be charged with malicious mischief.
