JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Kevin Christopher Jones was convicted of second degree murder Wednesday evening in the 2010 death of his ex-girlfriend Latoya Jones, according to a release from the State Attorney's Office.
According to reports, Kevin Jones stabbed 26-year-old Latoya Jones in her home and made her drive him around town.
During the ride, Kevin Jones strangled Latoya Jones and then jumped out of the vehicle and watched as she drove into a telephone pole.
Medical Examiner's reports states that Latoya's death was caused by strangulation.
Jones is scheduled to be sentenced the week of March 18, where he could possibly face up to life in prison.
