JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man faces life in prison after being convicted on sexual battery charges.
Clifton McNiel Brooks, 39, faces a mandatory life sentence on Feb. 27. Brooks was convicted this week on Sexual Battery and Lewd or Lascivious Molestion charges, according to a release from the State Attorney's Office.
Brooks sexually abused a young girl between 2003 and 2005 starting when the girl was just 7 years old. The mother told authorities after her daughter told her of the abuse.
Two other females who were also victimized when they were young came forward and testified against the defendant, according to the release.
