AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. -- There's been an outpouring of support for the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in Connecticut. Folks from around the nation have sent their condolences. One Amelia Island man is helping in a different way.
Jim Weinsier wrote a children's book 6 years ago titled "Where Do We Go?" The book tries to explain to kids the possibilities of where we go after we die. He wrote it after losses in his own life. Recently, he donated a case of 100 books to Sandy Hook elementary. He hopes his reassuring messages give kids hope.
"What I tried to do in the book is present possibilities and reassure them that things aren't so bad. Hopefully, at the end of the book, they come away being reassured and wondering and imagining what the possibilities are of afterlife," said Weinsier.
You can find "Where Do We Go" at local bookstores, online at Amazon.com and on Weinsier's website at wonderousbooksonline.com. Weinsier says he also has a coloring book in the works.
