JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Construction has already begun on a 2.3 mile section of road on Interstate 95, just south of the Fuller Warren Bridge.
The Florida Department of Transportation says it is replacing that stretch of road and the Overland Bridge, which carries traffic over Kings, Montana and Hendricks avenues.
FDOT is holding an open house Wednesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 2198 Edison Avenue so the public can ask questions about the project.
The price tag on this project is $158 million and is scheduled for completion in mid-2016.
I-95 will stay open during the construction, but expect lane closures and speed limit changes over the next three years through that section.
