JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has identified a man who died after being hit by a vehicle while trying to cross Lem Turner Road on Saturday night.

Glen A. White, 43, was trying to cross the 7200 block of Lem Turner from east to west around 6:50 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound, according to a release from JSO Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda.

White was transported to Shands Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries and later died.

The investigation is ongoing, Bujeda said.
