St. Augustine, Fla. -- The man who led the civil rights movement in St. Augustine is up for an award from the nation's oldest city.
Two men have been nominated for St. Augustine's highest award, the La Florida Award.
Dr. Robert Hayling led the civil rights movement in the nation's oldest city. Historians say he was the one who brought Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to St. Augustine.
Herbie Wiles, a long time businessman who started Herbie Wiles Insurance, was also nominated.
The city commission now needs to vote on the award.
