BAXLEY, Ga. -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Appling County Sheriff's Office are investigating a deadly home invasion robbery that happened Friday morning.
Appling County Sheriff Benny Deloach said via a news release that the 911 center received a call at 6:36 Friday morning from Bridge-Com Security.
Sheriff Deloach said the security company received a panic alarm from a home in the 300 block of Corey Street in Baxley, Georgia.
The owner of the home told police two men came into his home around 4 a.m. and tied him and his wife up. The man also said the two intruders ransacked his home.
Sheriff Deloach said sometime during the home invasion, 28-year-old Mandy Courson was killed. Police have not yet determined a cause of death for Courson.
Currently, GBI and the Appling County Sheriff's Office are investigating the crime as a home invasion and murder, Sheriff Deloach said.
