ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A possible gun seen being brought into the Epic movie theater in St. Augustine turned out to be a smuggled sub sandwich.
Catherine Payne, Public Information Officer with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, said shortly before 2 Thursday afternoon the Sheriff's Office received reports that a man came into the movie theater with a shotgun.
Payne said deputies evacuated the theater and located the man who allegedly had the shotgun.
When deputies interviewed the man, Payne said they determined he did not have a shotgun but instead was trying to sneak a sub sandwich into the theater.
Payne said everyone is being allowed back into the theater.
