JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man will spend life in prison without parole for the 2010 murder of a local woman.
Analiza Gobaton was killed when she was struck by a stray bullet from the gun of Taurice Brown. The stray bullet came from Brown's gun during a drug-related shooting on Transylvania Avenue.
Brown was convicted of murder in the first degree in October. In addition to his life sentence, Brown was also sentenced to another 65 years in prison for attempted murder.
Analiza's husband John Gobaton told the Court of the pain his family has endured since losing her. Analiza's children are now ages 16, 12, and 5.
"All I have is memories now. I miss my best friend," said Gobaton.
