ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office has reopened section of U.S. 1 South near the St. Johns-Flagler County after a natural gas leak.
This is the second gas leak that has closed a St. Johns County roadway Friday. Earlier Friday a gas leak near A1A and Mosquito Control Road caused police to divert traffic and evacuate an elementary school.
Sergeant Chuck Mulligan, Public Information Officer for the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, said traffic was being diverted off U.S. 1 in Flagler County and in the area surrounding the suspected leak.
Mulligan said the source of the leak is near a former gas station in the area.
