JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The August election will differ in many ways from what's expected in November -- long lines and wait times. That's why the Duval Supervisor of Elections is encouraging people to consider vote by mail or vote early.
Poll workers on Tuesday were handing out post cards to voters, offering them the opportunity to request a ballot that can be returned by mail.

Elections Supervisor Jerry Holland says an 80% turnout plus a four page ballot will translate into long lines at polling places.
"That really could be an experience that you will be there 2 or 3 hours when you go to vote," said Holland, who noted the ballot will include 11 state constitutional amendments.
Holland says today's election was a good chance to prepare for November, with the only difference being turnout. While Tuesday's voting may have a turnout of 20%, November's general election could see four out of five voters turning out to vote.
