JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A teen who was killed while crossing McCormick Road on his bicycle has been identified by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Jarrod Peterkin, 17, was struck by a motorist who failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of McCormick and Kernan roads, according to a release from JSO.
The vehicle, which was traveling east on McCormick struck Peterkin, who was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced deceased there.
JSO said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
