JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- One man was hit by a dump truck while illegally crossing the street on Lem Turner Road on Wednesday.
The man who was hit was crossing the street with another man after leaving Advanced Discount Auto Parts.
The other man saw a dump truck approaching, and the other man, a white male, did not and was hit by the dump truck, according to JSO Traffic Homicide Detective Gregory.
The man was taken to Shands Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries, while the other man ran from the scene, Gregory said.
