JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- City crews are busy inspecting roads damaged from pounding rains over the past two days. Mayor Alvin Brown said it's too early to say yet how much it will cost to repair streets that gave way to flood waters.
"We still have a lot of work," Brown said Wednesday afternoon at the city Emergency Operations Center.
Brown says about a third of the assessment has been done, as he has visited areas that suffered damage.
On the Westside, public works crews repaired two big pot holes. One on Ortega Farms Boulevard has been repaired. Another on Firestone Road and 118th will require more work as gushing water from a drainage ditch washed out portions of the road.
