JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said one person was killed in a crash on State Street downtown.
JSO confirmed the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on State Street near Davis Street when, for an unknown reason, a Sebring convertible flipped.
The male driver was taken to Shands Jacksonville, where he was pronounced dead.
JSO said this was believed to be the only vehicle involved in this crash, though detectives are still investigating the cause.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, State Street will be blocked from Jefferson Street to Interstate 95 through 6:30 a.m. as investigators work the scene.
