JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation has executed a search warrant at Fast Train College on Jacksonville's Southside.
Jeff Westcott, Public Information Officer for the Jacksonville FBI field office, said the FBI is there serving a search warrant as part of a joint investigation between the United States Department of Education and the FBI.
Westcott said agents arrived shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday morning. They were expected to be there the majority of the day.
No arrests are planned today, Westcott said. Agents are there to gather evidence.
At this time, the college will not be shut down.
WTSP, a sister station of First Coast News, confirmed that the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Inspector General is also conducting a search warrant at Fast Train campuses in Tampa and Clearwater as well.
The DOE OIG is working in conjunction with the FBI, the office confirmed.
The owner of Fast Train College informed the Commission for Independent Education that the FBI was on the premises, according to Susan Hood of the Florida Department of Education.
Morning classes were canceled, but afternoon classes were supposed to go on as scheduled, Hood said.
